Your first session at Balanced OT Wellness, for Pelvic Health, in Miller Place, NY, includes a conversation about your symptoms, goals, and medical history, followed by a gentle, individualized assessment. This may include movement, posture, breathing, or external techniques. Internal techniques are always optional.
Pelvic Health & Symptom Review: We will begin with a detailed conversation about your health history, current symptoms, and daily challenges to understand how pelvic health concerns are affecting your life.
Movement & Pelvic Health Assessment: This may include posture, breathing, movement patterns and pelvic floor muscle function. Internal assessment is always optional and guided by your comfort level.
Education & Treatment Planning: You will receive clear explanations and a personalized plan of care, which may include gentle exercises, movement strategies, and nervous system support.
Your comfort, consent , and pace are always prioritized, and you are encouraged to ask questions throughout the session.
This session is designed to help individuals begin their recovery and engage in the activities once loved, with confidence.

Yes. You always have options.
Pelvic floor therapy can include non-ivasive treatments such as movement -based therapy, breathing, external assessment, and biofeedback, Internal techniques are never required.
At Balanced OT Wellness (Pelvic Health), in Miller Place, NY, internal pelvic floor examinations are optional.
Fully Clothed Assessment – Movement-based and feedback-guided assessment while you remain dressed.
Visual Assessment (No Touch) – Observation only, with a mirror available if you’d like.
External Assessment – Gentle external techniques to assess coordination and muscle function.
Internal Assessment – A gloved finger exam (no speculum) to assess strength, coordination, relaxation, and endurance.
Biofeedback (Optional)- may be incorporated into your care to support awareness, coordination, and connection to your pelvic floor. A sensor (external or internal and fully clothed) provides real-time feedback and helps improve connection, coordination, and awareness of your pelvic floor.
You may decline any portion, change your mind at any time, and remain fully control throught your care.
This approach allows us to treat pelvic pain, bladder concerns, and post partum symptoms in a way that feels safe and supportive.
